Updates on Mom

I know I haven’t posted much about Mommie on here lately. Been sharing a lot on Facebook & twitter. But here’s the latest.

She’s been in her wheelchair for about a year now. She’s so unsteady on her feet that she’s terrified & shaking like a leaf. She barely speaks and when she does, her voice is so soft that you can’t hear her. She no longer dances to the music, even with her arms. I actually overhead some of the staff commenting on how lively she used to be. And how much she’s changed.

I look back on how she used to be, before she went into assisted living and even when she first got there and I miss the old days. It may have been hard and frustrating any upsetting but at least she was still talking. At least she was expressing herself. Now, if you’re lucky, maybe you can get a smile out of her. Maybe. But when she does smile, it lights up the whole room. It’s just hard catching those moments on camera. Lol.

Either way, here’s a pics of her from Monday. I made our own little greeting card for the holidays.
